Eleição para logomarca recebe sugestões de mais de 190 países
Quase todo mundo sabe: um coração simboliza o amor e uma pomba branca a paz. Mas qual o símbolo dos direitos humanos? Nenhuma imagem vem à cabeça, já que até hoje não há nenhum símbolo. Ou pelo menos não havia.Terminou nesse domingo (31.07) o prazo para envio de sugestões para o concurso que procura uma logomarca para os direitos humanos. A iniciativa, promovida pelo Ministério das Relações Exteriores da Alemanha, com apoio de países como Bósnia e Herzegovina, Chile, Canadá, Ilhas Maurício, Indonésia, Senegal, Singapura, República Tcheca e Uruguai, e representantes dos Direitos Humanos e de outras entidades internacionais, foi um sucesso. Um número surpreendente de sugestões – 15 296 – vindas de mais de 190 países foram enviadas.
Para Marcus Löning, Encarregado do Governo da Alemanha para Política de Direitos Humanos no Ministério das Relações Exteriores, comemorou o engajamento da comunidade internacional. "Estou muito contente com a resposta enorme. O número de inscrições superou todas as nossas
expectativas e mostrou que havia mesmo uma lacuna a ser preenchida sobre o tema“, disse. „Além disso, atraímos para os direitos humanos a atenção de muitas pessoas que não conheciam ou lidavam com o tema“, afirmou.
Agora, um júri especializado vai escolher as 10 melhores logomarcas e colocá-las para votação na internet a partir de 27 de agosto. Até 17 de steembro o público poderá escolher a imagem vencedora, que será apresentada no final do mesmo mês durante uma Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas, em Nova Iorque.

A Human Rights Logo must come from the people and must work across cultures. This is why as many people as possible should rate for the design they think best represents Human Rights. The rating phase starts on August 27th and lasts until September 17th. The winning logo will be presented on September 23rd.
Please help the initiative and this important cause by choosing your favorite logo, spreading the word and embedding the rating widget on your blog! This way, readers of your blog will be able to rate instantly and securely, without leaving your site. You'll find the code snippet for the widget with some instructions at the bottom of this mail.
